Since no body moves the same way, her gift of seeing the light energy move (or not move) will guide your hoopdance skills to a whole NEW level! Special focus: on spiritual alignment using “heaven on earth” chakra clearing. This technique frees the physical body to let go of any attachments of emotional nonsense. You may have heard the saying, ‘every trend comes full circle.’ In this literal case, what once was a fad of the ’50s is now considered one of the hottest sensations sweeping the nation… from nightclubs and parties to corporate team building, fitness centers, dance studios, and more! Hoop Dance is the fusion of dance, exercise, creative movement, and play. Modern hoop dance is influenced by numerous dance forms including hip-hop, tribal, ballet, break dancing, jazz, belly dancing, and burlesque.

Modern hooping is for all ages and bodies of all sizes, especially adults.

This hoop does not discriminate against any body type. Today’s Hoop is a larger, heavier hoop combined with friction tape creating ease for core body movement. The ‘Bigger is better’ philosophy creates a slower movement. This gives you the time to explore creative movements different than the spastic gyrations that those little plastic hoops require. In general, the only thing keeping anyone from succeeding in the hoop is self-confidence.

FAQ's

Try this: Stand with your hoop in front of you. The general rule of thumb is that a hoop should be between the belly button and chest height, although some compensation should be made for your waist size, too. A general rule of thumb: The bigger you are, the bigger the hoop should be. Larger hoops will rotate slower, making getting started easier. Smaller than that will make the hoop rotate faster, this is more challenging but also better for doing fancy tricks and exercising.

We will bring a variety of sizes to choose from.

Heat + gravity = a warped hoop   Never leave your hoop in the sun or in the heat (like the back seat of your car). If this warps the hoop, then lay your hoop out on a flat surface in the sunshine for about 10 minutes and the hoop should go back to its circular form.

Start and end your hooping session with a few isolated stretching exercises.

  • Be aware of space- lighting fixtures, mirrors, small children, and animals
  • Store your hoop in a cool, dry & flat surface
  • Never leave your hoop in the sun or in the heat (like the back seat of your car). If this warps the hoop, then lay your hoop out on a flat surface in the sunshine for about 10 minutes and the hoop should go back to its circular form
  • Hooping on the grass or other soft surface will prevent the tape from dinging or scratching.
  • Prevent scrapes/marks on white ceilings & walls with white tape. We call it the Snowflake Series.

Dress comfortable, ready to move, in all ways. Its best to wear fitted clothes, no slippery fabrics.

Space sufficient for hooping is mandatory for each event. General rule of measurement: One person + one Hoop + 3’ extra space around them. Depending on the size of the space will depend on the quantity of participants at one time. People can always hoop in shifts.

Whether it is an intimate birthday/bridal party of 8, to a wedding, festival or corporate team building – Hoop dance Space is the most important aspect of this program. Depending on the event location, will depend on limitations. Andi has lead large groups to small groups, no limit on her services.

Costs range $700-$3300 per hour.  Components and details will be discussed during the inquiry call. Please complete the intake form.

Large open space, no obstructions. Outdoor or Indoor. If indoor, must have high ceilings. Level flooring.

No animals, please.

Yes, I will bring my own microphone and plug into your sound system.

Yes! This is the most popular private session – bring me to you. If you have the sufficient safe space + power, I’ll bring the Hoop Gear.

Your choice – If your space meets requirements, I can come to you, or we can meet at a park and have an outside session. Maybe you want a studio setting, we can make arrangements for indoor movement space.

If your space requires insurance, we can provide Insurance coverage for Hoop Habit events/classes/retreats.

Safety is important, no hooping in the rain for team building and private events, sorry. If we rain-out we will reschedule the event.

Depending on the flooring of your location, each space is different. Lot of people prefer to hoop barefoot. If the floors are for dancing, flat dance shoes or sneakers. Be comfortable.
