Harvesting the Hoop Habit

While Friends in Australia are preparing to fit into their swimsuits, here in the States, we’re pulling out the blankets, lighting the pilot on the heater, finding the perfect outfit to meet the occasion and the wackiest costume that brings laughs …These fall (or spring) activities are the tipping point into the Holiday season.

Recently had a memory about my 2003 visit to Oz, when I randomly flipped through a book at my friend (& Author), Serene Conneeley’s flat, and read that ‘the Witches Cauldron’ is a timeless symbol of physical and spiritual transformation, it’s the natural transition of life and death. All four of the elements are represented: Fire was used to heat it, Water was used to fill it, herbs or vegetables represented Earth, and the steam/aromas which arose out of it, represents the element, Air. Out of the cauldron came food, healing balms, medicines, teas, magical potions, or just water for cleansing.
Like a scale, weighing out the pros/cons, praise vs. criticism, balancing masculine & feminine, light/dark, pleasure vs pain, the cauldron is similar to the body, it is constantly collecting data, backing it up, storing it for the next year with the goal to stay neutral.

Hooping 15 minutes a day holds the center for the balancing act of authenticity, as we fumble into a new way of learning to ground the neutral position. It also helps solve personal mysteries that we would have never seen unless we stepped out of the box and into the magic circle (or cauldron). Its a feeling of fearlessness, self trust, knowing the raw truth and just BEing alive!

I love my daily Hoop Habit because no matter what is going on in the world, when people see the hoop on my shoulder walking to the beach or train station, it reminds them that life is Amazing, FUN and Simple. It’s important for me to share the little achievements of this grateful, Cutie-with-a-Bootie, because this technique immediately breaks free of any “I can’t” negativity. Then, I strategically reflect the Hoop Habit “I AM”, with the intention to: “Inspire choice – Believe in taking the risks – Move their purpose into motion”. Reminding them to look around, anything they see in me is what they do not see in themselves. So if You think “I AM” amazing, wonderful, fabulous, take a look at the reflection (in the cauldron) of your AWESOMENESS!
